How Is Your Mental Health?

Updated: Nov 22, 2021

How are you today? Was it a lot?

I feel like sometimes there is always something happening and you can’t even catch a break. When you do get a moment you feel guilty for taking some time out for yourself and not being productive. Maybe it’s just me but setting aside a couple of minutes to de-stress seems to help when I feel I am in my head a lot.

It is important to look after your physical and mental health to be the best version of yourself. Just to keep in mind I am no expert and these methods seem to help me cope so I though why not share them? I am someone who overthinks about the most minor things in life and can never get my mind to just relax. This is especially the case at night where my mind wanders aimlessly creating scenarios about things that wont even happen.

What has really helped me just focus my thoughts onto something is the Youtube Channel Headspace. They do also have an app with a 14 day trial period, after that you do have to pay to unlock certain mindful exercises. You may or may not have heard of it but it has been my go to recently and I use it for every moment I feel is needed. There are a range of videos to help you sleep, meditate and a load of mindfulness videos.

My current favourite Headspace videos are:

1. The 10 minute Sleep cast

2. The 10 minute Relaxing Deep Sleep cast and Sleep story

3. The 10 minute Mediation to Reframe Stress

4. Take back your Sunday from Work Stress and Anxiety

5. Reset: Decompress your Body and Mind

My list of favourite videos change overtime as I discover content on their channel everyday.

They have been nothing but helpful in educating me on how to switch off in this busy world we live in. That is why I thought I would share what I do to look after my mental health and it may help someone else struggling to get some relief.

Let me know some of your tips and tricks in the comments below in order-to mentally switch off.

I always enjoy reading your thoughts and learning new things I never even considered before.
