Shopping for new clothes is always exciting because you don't know what you will come across and if the next find will be a wardrobe staple for many years to come. I am someone who looks for comfort and then style as there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable.
At the moment I am loving a bit of minimalism and colour in my wardrobe, while mixing and matching street wear with a girly twist. Well I hope it translates as such. But the most important aspect is feeling confident in what you wear!
Since it’s spring the weather can be a bit confusing temperature wise, well at least where I live. I find that its freezing in the morning and I need a cardigan to stay warm, by the time its the middle of the day the temperature decides to get pretty warm. This is when I ditch the cardigan and have to carry it around for the rest of the day. Truly a struggle or a first world problem. However, that doesn’t stop me from experimenting with my outfits but I just make sure to carry a cardigan around!
OUTFIT 1
This would be my go to outfit to just throw on with minimal effort. Sometimes you just need something that looks cute and is comfortable. I love paring shorts with a loose button up top as it goes perfectly together. This is something I would wear out shopping, running errands or just having a relaxing picnic in a park. It really is a versatile outfit that can be worn with ankle boots, sandals or sneakers. I got this outfit from Cotton On which has become a staple in my wardrobe.
OUTFIT 2
My second outfit that I have been loving is this mom jeans with this yellow and white stripped top combo. Once again comfort being my main focus. You can‘t go wrong with jeans and a cute top when out and about on the weekend with some friends or family. I did roll up the bottom of my jeans as I liked they way it looked and would most likely wear a pair of white sneakers to complete the look. I got this combo from Jay Jays who have a great collection of tops and jeans in various styles.
OUTFIT 3
This next outfit is also something I recently fell in love with. I scored this t-shirt in the men’s section as I like the baggy fit and sleeves combined with a cute checkered skirt. I do make sure I wear shorts underneath to avoid any mishaps from the wind! This outfit is quick and easy to pair along with combat boots for a lunch date or just going to the movies. To spice it up even more why not add some chains to the skirt, to give it some extra bling! I believe I got this top from Jays Jays and the skirt from Factorie.
OUTFIT 4
The last outfit is one of my favourites and can go from a day to night look perfectly. You may also notice the bright yellow colour which looks great with a darker complexion or a tan. It is figure hugging yet comfortable which is rare in a dress. I would wear this at the beach for brunch and even a dinner date as it does have a slit that stops just above your knee. A black leather jacket or a coat when it gets chilly would look great. My shoe preference would be sandals for the day and some black or nude heels to turn it into a night look. I don't think this dress is available at Valley Girl anymore but you might be lucky or score something similar.
Were there any looks you particularly loved? Anything you bought lately that you have been obsessed with?
